Anam Cara Apostolate
The purpose of the Anam Cara Apostalate is to practice and promote the concept of Colonies of Heaven within the modern world. A Colony of Heaven is defined by the notion that the culture of the Kingdom of God—St. Augustine’s City of God—is what distinguishes its activities and beliefs; beliefs conformed to the Gospel of Jesus Christ as revealed in the Holy Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as interpreted through the accepted traditions of the Church. The principle stands that it is the Heavenly culture that is called to influence the world and not the world influence the Church. The Anam Cara Apostolate engages this goal through the functioning of three principal guilds: Anam Cara Pilgrimages and Retreats; The Community and Order of St. Columba; and St. Brigid’s Healing Guild.

The Apostolate attempts to make pilgrimages, retreats, and the work of the Healing Guild availabile to all, regardless of their financial situation. Your donation goes toward the ministry for those who otherwise could not afford such pilgrimages and retreats; as well as supporting the healing and intercessory work of the Apostolate in general; and the Order of St. Columba specifically.
